Movement of water in streams and river beds, periodic floods, seasonal changes in water causes damage of the channel slopes and soil losses. Regarding to the movement is caused the erosion in the channel slopes, is occured the slope stabilization problem and the route of stream and river beds changes over time. Although rigid structures cannot be permanent due to their service life, they can be made permanent with geosynthetic stream coating elements.

Pond structures are the most important hydraulic structures from the past to the present which are used for drinking and irrigation purposes and also agriculture lands. The biggest problem experienced in ponds designed as headworks is that water cannot be kept in the waterway and the desired capacity cannot be maintained. Geosytnthetic clay cover, geomembrane and geotextile, which are produced for impermeability coating, offer unique engineering solutions that are both economical and environmentally friendly.

The content of the waste material coming out of the mining sites and the proper storage of this waste are important. In the storage areas, sealing barriers are made on the basements and slopes in accordance with the content of the waste. The basement is covered with clay ground however sealing cannot be achieved on slopes with the same application in classical methods. The performance values of geosynthetic materials have been improved and sealing barriers suitable for the content of the waste have been provided with the development of technology.
